Lobbying
It is not always easy to get your voice heard by politicians, officials and other decision makers. The word 'lobbying' can refer to any communication that aims at influencing the decisions people make.
The first steps to successful lobbying are to work out who the relevant decision makers are on the issue you are concerned about, and what exactly it is that you are aiming for. Then you can start to consider what the key issues, evidence and arguments are and how best you can get them across to those people to achieve your aims. Often it will be more than one path, e.g. submissions, attending consultation events, meetings with decision makers, influencing public opinion through the media.
There are many resources available to help you to lobby decision makers, below are just a few.
